Wallet Reported Stolen From Locker At Darien YMCA: Police
The theft markets the second time a wallet was stolen from the Post Road facility in less than a month.
DARIEN, CT — A wallet was reported stolen from a locker at the Darien YMCA on Jan. 8, according to Darien police, the second such incident at the Post Road facility in less than a month.
The latest theft occurred in the men's locker room in the early afternoon while the victim was taking a class, police said. He had placed the wallet in a locker that he did not lock and found it gone at about 12:30 p.m. when he returned to the locker room.
"The complainant stated he hadn’t seen anything suspicious while at the YMCA," said police in a statement.

A few hours later, the victim heard a knock on his door at home, and when he answered it, a man named "Peter" handed him the wallet that he said he found "on a railing at the Stamford Mall, on the 7th floor near the restaurants."
Missing was the $200 that had been inside the wallet, but police did not disclose any additional information about the case.

In mid-December, credit cards and $220 in cash were reported stolen from a wallet in an unlocked locker in the women's locker room, according to Darien police.
