DARIEN, CT — Warby Parker, the popular New York City-based retailer of prescription glasses, contact lenses and sunglasses, will soon open its fifth Connecticut store at Darien Commons on April 15.

Several new retailers have already moved in to Darien Commons, with more expected to open soon.

Overall, the development includes 75,000 square feet of new retail space along with 122 luxury apartments.

Warby Parker Darien will serve as a one-stop shop for customers to access all of their vision care needs, with full sun and optical eyewear offerings, including the new spring and summer 2023 collections, daily contact lenses from Scout by Warby Parker, third-party contacts, and more. Customers can also shop online and through the Warby Parker app.

Eye exams will be offered at the store in the future.

Each Warby Parker location is equipped with a "Reference Desk" where customers can consult with team members for styling advice, order pickup, and even frame adjustments.

The new location is special for Warby Parker, since Darien is the hometown of actress Chloë Sevigny, whom Warby Parker collaborated with last fall.

"We’re thrilled to expand our retail presence in Connecticut with our fifth store in the state, Darien Commons, as we aim to make it more convenient for customers to access affordable, holistic vision care," Warby Parker Senior Vice President of Retail Sandy Gilsenan told Patch.

New stores feature artwork unique to each space.

"For this new location, we worked with Connecticut native Monique Aimee on custom in-store artwork and are excited to offer opening day cookies from local favorite bakery, Flour Water Salt Bread," Gilsenan added.

Warby Parker was launched in 2010 with a mission to inspire and impact the world with vision, purpose and style.

Connecticut locations include Farmington, New Haven, Norwalk and Greenwich.

For every pair of Warby Parker glasses purchased, a pair gets distributed to someone in need through the company's Buy a Pair, Give a Pair program. To date, over 8 million pairs have been distributed, the company said.

According to their website, Warby Parker will be open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
