Winning Cocktail, Bar Named In Darien's Best Bartender Contest
The second annual event was held Tuesday at Grove Street Plaza.

DARIEN, CT - From Moffly Media: On Wednesday, September 20th, New Canaan–Darien &Rowayton Magazine presented the 2nd Annual Darien’s Best Bartender Contest, which was held in the charming open-air venue at Grove Street Plaza. From 5:30 p.m- 7:30 p.m., local mixologists concocted delicious signature drinks for attendees to sample and cast a vote for their favorite.
While the event was postponed a day due to the fierce winds and rain that Hurricane Jose brought on Tuesday, the skies cleared and partygoers lucked out on Wednesday with a beautiful, breezy late summer evening. Attendees enjoyed live music performed by Henry Jones Band and sampled drinks and seasonal light bites from the following participants: Center Street Public House, Darien Butcher Shop, Estia’s Back Porch Cafe, The Goose American Bistro & Bar, Fjord Fish Market, The Melting Pot, Rory’s Restaurant, Valor Spirits and The Waters Edge at Giovanni’s. After the votes were counted, the winning drink went to Rory’s Restaurant for their prosecco and grapefruit vodka concoction. The secret to this crowd favorite? Fresh grapefruit juice and a splash of cranberry. This mouthwatering cocktail will be featured in the November/December issue of New Canaan-Darien & Rowayton Magazine, along with party photos of guests and competitors.
Local Business and Flower Sponsors included William Pitt - Sotheby’s International Realty, Helen Ainson, Le Boudoir and The Gardener’s Center and Florist. Exclusive Water Sponsor VOSS Artesian Water provided still and flavored sparkling water so guests stayed hydrated throughout the night.
