Winning Cocktail Declared At Darien's Best Bartender Contest
The third annual Best Bartender contest was held in Darien on Sept. 27.

From Darien Community Fund: On Thursday, September 27th, New Canaan–Darien & Rowayton Magazine presented the 3rd Annual Darien’s Best Bartender Contest, which was held in the towns scenic Nielsen’s Florist greenhouse and store. From 5:30 p.m- 7:30 p.m., local mixologists concocted delicious signature drinks for attendees to sample and cast a vote for their favorite.
Attendees enjoyed live music performed by Adrian Clarke and sampled drinks and seasonal light bites from the following participants: The Water Edge at Giovanni’s, Center Street Public House, Louie’s Italian Restaurant and Bar, Michael Joseph’s, Rory’s Restaurant, and The Goose. Wine will be provided by Valor Spirits. After the votes were counted, the winning drink went to Darien Grille’s David Barone for a concoction called “The Griller”. The secret to this crowd favorite? The right amount of Orgeat Almond, pineapple and lime to bring out the unique appreciaton of the Darte Rum. This mouthwatering cocktail will be featured in the November/December issue of New Canaan-Darien & Rowayton Magazine, along with party photos of guests and competitors.
Local Business Sponsors include William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty, Baywater Properties, Carta McAlister & Moore LLC, Helen Ainson, and Jaguar Land Rover Darien. Exclusive Water Sponsor Mountain Valley Spring Water provided flat and sparkling water so guests stayed hydrated throughout the night. Flower Sponsor Neilsons florist provided a raffle for six gorgeous small floral arrangments. KVO collections provided a grand price raffle for one of their luxurious yellow gold diamond necklaces.

A portion of ticket proceeds from Darien’s Best Bartender Contest will benefit The Community Fund of Darien. This 65-year-old organization makes grants to local nonprofits to ensure that critical services such as food, shelter and mental health are accessible and affordable.
On Thrusday September 27th, New Canaan-Darien & Rowayton Magazine held the 3rd Annual Darien’s Best Bartender Contest, a community happy hour designed to benefit the Community Fund of Darien.
