Woman Bit in Face by Dog in Darien
The woman was taking her dog for a walk when another dog escaped its home and began attacking. She and her dog were injured.

A woman received multiple dog bites after her dog was attacked during a walk.
The 50-year-old Darien woman was walking her dog on a leash while accompanied by a friend on June 12 around 9 a.m. on Homestead Road, police said.
A neighbor’s black female lab mix ran out of the house and into the roadway before attacking her dog, according to police.

The woman’s dog was bit on the neck and rear legs. She attempted to intervene and in the chaos was bit on the left facial cheek, left front thigh, left shin and in two places on her right calf. She wasn’t sure which dog bit her.
She received medical treatment later that evening and her dog was treated at Norwalk Veterinary Hospital, police said.

The owner of the other dog said that the dog escaped when a construction worker was inside the garage. The dog was licensed and up-to-date on shots.
Both dogs were required to undergo 14 days of home quarantine per state law. The Darien Animal Control Officer is following-up on the investigation.
