Woman Uses Counterfeit Bills on April Fool's Day in Darien
A woman used $100 bills at three stores on Tokeneke Road on April 1.

DARIEN, CT- A woman reportedly crossed the line between harmless joke and crime on April 1 when she purchased goods at two local stores using counterfeit money.
The woman, described as a Hispanic female with long black hair, a red top and black pants went to Johnny's Records and purchased two bottles of Grateful Dead brand non-alcoholic wine. She used a $100 bill to pay for the $30 purchase.

An employee at the store later became suspicious and went to nearby SoNo Baking Company to use a counterfeit pen tester. They also received a counterfeit $100 bill from the suspect.
Townhouse Fines also reported that the same suspect came into the store and tried to use a $100 bill to buy a $14 book. An employee was suspicious and told the woman that she didn't have change and couldn't accept the bill.
