• Firefighters battle suspicious brush fire on island in Lyme (ctpost.com) — Deep River firefighters helped knock down a suspicious late-night brush fire on Selden Neck State Park island in Lyme after taking command from local crews. The illegally started blaze, about 100 by 100 feet, was quickly contained and extinguished with no injuries. State environmental officials and the fire marshal are still investigating how the unattended campsite fire began.
