Durham Middlefield Local Wellness Coalition and The Resident State Troopers office of Middlefield would like to thank everyone who came and dropped off RX Drugs on National Drug Take Back Day on October 26th. The take back day collected 109 pounds of unused medications. National Prescription Drug Take Back Day events have been extremely successful not only in getting unused drugs out of the house, but also in raising awareness of their link to addiction and overdose deaths. The public has embraced the opportunity these events provide to remove medicines in the home that are unused and that are highly susceptible to misuse, abuse and theft. If you have medications that need to be disposed of before the next take back day in the Spring of 2020 DMLWC has free medication disposal bags available to anyone interested. Please email Dena Miccinello, Prevention Coordinator at dmiccinello@dmyfs.org or call 860-349-0258.
