A 20-year-old man fell approximately 30 feet at the intersection of Route 66 and 147 on Sunday, May 10. Middlefield Volunteer Fire Company Chief Peter Tyc told Patch via email that the man suffered injuries to his lower extremities. The extent of the injuries is unknown.
“Crews from Meriden Fire , Westfield Fire and Middlefield Fire remove the patient from the woods using their all terrain vehicles,” he said. “Patient was located about 2 miles into the wooded area and the operation lasted two and 1/2 hours . Life Star helicopter was used to transport the patient to Hartford Hospital.”
