2017-18 Budget Vote Scheduled For Region 13 School District In Durham And Middlefield
The vote is scheduled for this coming week.

DURHAM, CT — Residents of Durham and Middlefield will have the chance to vote on the proposed 2017-18 budget for the Region 13 School District on May 2, officials announced.
Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the 2nd, but the night before, at 8 p.m. on May 1, the budget will be the subject of consideration during a meeting at Coginchaug Regional High School.
The proposed budget is $37,137,901, which is $432,300 over the current budget of $36,705,601, or a 1.18 percent increase. To view the complete 2017-18 school budget document, click here.

Below is the text of the notice for the May 1 meeting and May 2 vote:
Notice is hereby given to all those eligible to vote in town meetings in the member towns of Durham and Middlefield that a District Meeting of Regional School District 13 of the State of Connecticut will be held on May 1, 2017 at 8:00p.m. in the Julian Thayer Auditorium at Coginchaug Regional High School for the following purpose:
To consider the proposed budget for the 2017-18 fiscal year as prepared and presented by the Regional School District 13 Board of Education.
The meeting will be adjourned until 6:00 a.m. on May 2, 2017, when voting will take place from 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Durham voters at the Francis E. Korn Elementary School Building, Durham; Middlefield voters at the MiddlefieldCommunity Center, Middlefield. The question to be voted on is
as follows:
Shall we accept the proposed budget of $37,137,901 for the 2017-18 fiscal year as prepared and presented by the Regional District 13 Board of Education?
At such meeting, persons present and eligible to vote under Section 7-6 of the Connecticut General Statutes may accept or reject the proposed budget.
Copies of the proposed budget will be mailed to every postal patron in Durham and Middlefield.
