80 Bags of Cigarette Cartons Ripped Off from Krauszer's in Durham: State Police

The break-in occurred on Madison Road during the early morning hours on Tuesday.

DURHAM, CT — A lone thief stole 80 bags of cigarette cartons, and another 110 loose packs of cigarettes, early Tuesday from the Krauszer's Food Store at 459 Madison Road in Durham, according to the Durham Resident State Trooper's office.

"This investigation reveals that the lone suspect entered the front of the store at approximately 12:49 a.m. by throwing a large rock thru the front door glass," wrote Trooper First Class Larry Morello in a statement. "Video surveillance shows the lone suspect then went behind the front counter and took 80 bags of various cartons of cigarettes along with 110 loose cigarette packs. This crime took less than 1 minute."

The suspect is described as a white male in his late 20s or early 30s, who was wearing blue jeans, black and white sneakers, a dark colored winter jacket, dark colored gloves, and a hoodie. Additionally, the suspect had some type of scarf covering his lower face, according to state police.
