
DURHAM, CT — The 97th Annual Durham Fair began this afternoon with the ceremonial ribbon cutting at 4 p.m.
The four-day fair runs through Sunday, Sept. 25. It is called "Connecticut's Largest Agricultural Fair," and it is also the largest fair in North America managed entirely by unpaid volunteers, according to organizers.

The fair features live music, livestock, rides, arts & crafts, food, a monster truck rally and other activities. For 2016, the headlining musical acts are the rock band Foreigner, country band Old Dominion, and Motown legends Martha Reeves and the Vandellas.
