Teens 13-18 get a chance to try out Zumba dance exercise classes free at the Durham Public Library

Starting a new school year is a good time to start a new exercise program! The Durham Public Library will be hosting Alexis from Durham Core Club for a beginner’s Zumba class Mondays in September (8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th) from 3:30-4:30pm.
Zumba is “The class that started the dance-fitness revolution and changed the way we look at a “workout” forever. It’s fun, effective and best of all? Made for everyone!” (From the official Zumba website) It incorporates hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue, mambo and martial arts. Squats and lunges are also included.
This program will be open to teenagers ages 13-18 and participants will be required to sign up for the sessions they wish to attend. Water will be provided by the library, but the participants should wear exercise appropriate clothing, including sneakers.
