Programs for Kids:

Llama Llama Stories and Craft (2 1/2 – 5 years). Monday, March 9 at 6:30 p.m. Stories, games, and crafts that celebrate the stories of Anna Dewdney, featuring Llama Llama. Drop in.

Nutmeg at Night Gameshow. Thursday, March 12. Grades 4—6 from 6:00 at 7:00 p.m., Grades 7+ from 7:00—8:00. Just how well do you know this year’s Nutmeg nominees? Form a team with your friends to answer trivia questions about all ten books. Audience members can act as ‘life lines!’ Bring the whole family! Registration required.

Programs for Teens:

SAT Practice Test (ages 14-18). Saturday, March 7 from 12:00-3:00 p.m. Get in some practice before your official SATs! We’ll be taking a practice test in real test conditions. Registration required.

Teen Advisory Group (ages 12-18) Saturday, March 7 from 3:00 a.m.-4:00pm. The TAG meets once a month to discuss how to improve the library for young adults. Come join our lively discussion!

Programs for Adults:

Book Lovers’ Circle, Wednesday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m. We will discuss In the Shadows of the Banyan by Vadly Ratner. Copies of the book are available at the Library. All are invited.

Movie Matinees. Thursdays at 1:30pm. This film series is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. Upcoming films, March 5th: The Two Faces of January starring Viggo Mortensen & Kirsten Dunst; March 12th: Chef starring Jon Favreau & Robert Downey Jr.

Soup & Salad Luncheon. Friday, March 6th at noon at the Library. The Durham Senior Citizens Board and the Durham Public Library Board invite all Durham seniors to another First Friday Luncheon. Sean Hayes, owner of Powder Ridge Mountain Park & Resort, will do a short presentation. Reservations are necessary and should be made before noon on March 4th by calling Amanda Pedersen, Social Services Director, at 860-349-3153. The luncheon is generously funded by the Durham Senior Citizens Board, with food provided by Perk On Main.

Computer Basics. Wednesday, March 11. Two sessions: 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. or 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. This workshop is designed for adults with little or no computer experience and will address basic computer skills including mouse and keyboard skills. Registration required.
