While we are talking about bedrooms lets not forget the baby's room! This is such a wonderful room to decorate. Getting ready for the new baby always makes this a special room! I love the room in this picture (monarch desgins) for many reasons. First, the soft colors! It is so soothing and just the thought of a new baby sleeping surrounded by these colors makes me feel good. Remember, when choosing your colors that the pastels work best. The bright primary colors might make you feel good but they are "action" colors and will keep baby awake!
The second thing I like is the simplicity. It's beautiful but not overkill. I also look at the ease that the room can be converted into a room for an older child. I generally don't use wallpaper in a baby's room (unless you really love putting it up AND taking it off!). Some design ideas I focus on are painted walls, hand painted murals for the walls, and/or art to make it special. These are all easy to change as your baby grows.
