Come join us at Lake Beseck Beach on July 23rd to learn about the history of Middlefield!
Bring a blanket or beach chair and park yourself in front of a large movie screen to go back in time!
See slides dating back to the late 1800’s! Learn about the 1897 blacksmith shop, old farms in early 1900's, downtown Middlefield in 1910, old markets and factories such as the Metropolitan Washing Machine company where the Blackbird Tavern in now located, the Pistol Shop – the birthplace of “mass production”, the Russell Manufacturing factory at Wadsworth Falls, early days of the airline railroad and the three train stations, Rockfall in the 1930's, Lake Beseck drained in 1950’s, the Lake Beseck Association clubhouse and the Beseck Community Store at the beach, Happy Acres, the trolley between Middletown and Middlefield and the 1970 Powder Ridge Rock Festival!
