Since home offices are a big part of decorating I thought I would spend some more time talking about them. I found this picture and I love the simplicity of design and how it makes a wonderful statement. What do you think makes the biggest difference in making this an updated and inviting space? I feel the wall color, art work, and placement of chairs and pillows are what does it.
If you are on a budget you can start by painting the walls - very inexpensive. The art can be found many places - here they have used the same frames and tied in the color of the walls - important! I think the simple chairs with the pillows are fantastic. Notice how the green is tied in. The black is carried in the frames, pillows, and desk. You could do the same thing using natural wood and keeping the frames the same. I do like the black and green - makes for more of a dramatic effect.
Don't forget the lighting - especially above the pictures - this really helps accent the art and keeps that area from being too dark. I also like how this shows you what you can do in a fairly small space! Let me know what you are designing for your home office! j
