Middletown Rotary Club selects Alix Jansma, a junior at Haddam-Killingworth High School, as Student of the Month

HK Junior Honored as Student of the Month by Middletown Rotary Club

The Middletown Rotary Club honored Alix Jansma, a junior at Haddam-Killingworth High (HK) School at the May club assembly luncheon meeting as Student of the Month.

Jansma is in the top five percent of her class, a member and treasurer of the French Honor Society, and has been a model student in the Broadcast Journalism program at HK.  Jansma is presently the social chair of the HK Players, the school’s drama club and has performed in several musical and drama productions since her freshman year.  This year, she was chosen to be a participant of Swing 14, the school’s select choir.  Jansma plans to continue taking courses in HK’s communication program in her senior year and attend college in Boston or New York City following graduation.

The Middletown Rotary Club selects Student of the Month based on a combination of high academic standards, community involvement, and extracurricular activities.  Rotary maintains its membership from those who live and/or work in Middletown as well as the surrounding towns of Cromwell, Portland, Durham, Middlefield and Higganum.
