Nexus 7, no further questions

It all started on my computer.  The news was everywhere; TV, Google, YouTube and my mind was going crazy!  The specs on this new 7-inch tablet couldn't be correct and the price point was too low for any tablet like this.  There must have been a server error by Google but I was all wrong.  It was true, the new Nexus 7 was being released and I had to get it!  The mouse on my computer almost broke as I reached for the pre-order button on the Google Play store.  The specs included:

-7 inch display (1280x800) (Looks amazing!)

-340 grams (wow!)

-1.2 MP front facing camera (it's okay)

-NFC (great!)

-Bluetooth

-Android 4.1

-8 GB internal storage(good enough for me, maybe)

-1 GB RAM

-NVIDIA Tegra 3 Processor (no words express this feature)

Yup, thats it.  Only the best specs that can really satisfy and tech guru, social network freak, or tablet gamer.  And that all sums up into a small light-weight tablet with an amazing processor and outstanding OS.

Project Butter.  Google just sliced the butter very precisely making the new OS outstanding and better than any other OS including iOS, Windows Phone 7, and Blackberry OS.  I can't imagine that such precision could be mastered on a device such as this.  The gliding on this tablet is so smooth (as butter) and I can easily open 10 + applications without lag.  

Nvidia really did do a great job.  When I first turned on the device, I couldn't wait to add widgets and install a bunch of applications and I could easily do this with the Tegra 3 processor.  The processor on the Nexus 7 really completes this almight package and doesn't disappoint either.  

Jelly Bean is just amazing.  What else isn't amazing about this tablet?  Oh yeah, there is a few things.  Although I love this tablet and use it almost every second of the day (including the milli-seconds) there is some minor details that I think could be helped by new updates on the OS.  Once in a while, the whole tablet just shuts down.  Yes, shuts down and I have to turn it back on with the fact that that I lost my progress except for on the Google Applications that save your progress.  For instance, I could be in an app and all of a sudden I try to click on my notifications (Facebook) and then a window pops-up and informs me that I can either wait for Facebook to respond, report it, or exit the app leaving me with the homescreen.  This can be extremely frustrating especially because it happens pretty frequently with Facebook, YouTube, and Google Chrome.  This may or may not be an obstacle for others but it definitely should be addressed so that Google had to chance to fix these errors in their future updates.

Although I have said some great things and some not-so-great things about the Nexus 7, this tablet is a must buy.  It can be purchased on the Google Play Store for $199, 16 GB which is a better deal than what I got ($199 8GB).  You can also buy the Nexus 7 32 GB for $249 and an AT&T and T-Mobile version for $299 which does require a 2-year contract.  For more information, go to:
