Staff Recommendations:
Cyndi‘s pick:
A Place of Execution by Val McDermid – This psychological thriller moves between 1963, when a young girl disappears from her English home, and 1998 as a documentary on the disappearance brings new facts to light. Careful construction of the plot makes for a great ending. Winner of the 2001 Dilys, Macavity and Anthony Awards.
Christine’s pick:
I liked Diamond Ruby by Joseph Wallace. It has a great setting in Roaring '20s New York and Ruby is an engaging heroine.
