Middletown House Concert Series presents

The trio of artists that is The Refugees emerged on the music scene as a verifiably unmatched force of talent, diversity, and experience. Each successful in their own right as a solo artist, Cidny Bullens, Deborah Holland and Wendy Waldman formed their unique and innovative group in 2007 and since that time have been wowing audiences, radio DJs, and music critics alike with their soaring harmonies, indelible musicianship, and unforgettably humorous stage presence.
Individually, The Refugees have logged almost five decades in the industry, with more than twenty solo albums and multiple Grammy Award nominations to their credit, featuring musical styles that blend country, rock, folk, blues and Americana. To describe them as eclectic would be an understatement. These three artists have utilized their intense drive and relentless passions to create an entirely new sound. They have produced four critically acclaimed albums—Unbound, Three, How Far It Goes, and 2024’s gem California. To commemorate The Refugees 20th anniversary, they are releasing a “best of” album that will include several new songs in January 2027.
They continue to tour around the country and together have become a songwriting force sought after by some of music’s top artists and songwriters.Suggested donation: $35

The Kids Market is an award-winning program that gives kids the opportunity to experience what it's really like to run their own business. Children ages 5-17 can create a product or service, set up their own booth, interact with customers, take payments and experience the excitement of making their first sales!
<h3>Is your child ready to be a young entrepreneur?</h3>
Their product can be almost anything (except food!) handmade items, store-bought products, games, crafts, services and more. Most importantly, it should be something people want to buy!
This is a chance for kids to take the lead while parents sit back and watch them build valuable skills in entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership.
Children must be able to, with minimal adult help:
<ol><li>Complete their prep work</li><li>Take and fulfill orders and answer customer questions</li><li>Take payment and make change</li></ol>
Parents can assist when needed, and children with disabilities or special needs are welcome to participate with any necessary parental assistance.
Children may not sell goods on behalf of their parents. They must have an active role in the acquisition and/or production of their product.
No fundraisers, MLMs or animals are permitted. No refunds or credits will be given for any reason.

Readers can step aboard the book truck, browse a curated selection of books for children and adults, discover independent and local authors, and find their next great read. The Lit Stop also features rotating local author appearances and book signing throughout the event, giving guests the opportunity to meet authors, purchased signed books, and support Connecticut's growing literary community.

Join me and George Gogas of Serene Strength Mind &amp; Body for an intimate and deeply nourishing evening that weaves together three powerful healing modalities — ceremonial cacao, gentle yoga and a closing sound bath — into one seamless sacred experience.
And the timing couldn’t be more intentional. November 11th — 11/11 — is one of the most energetically significant dates of the entire year. <h3>Join Sip &amp; Script®&nbsp;for a Night of Learning Calligraphy!</h3>
Join us at&nbsp;1741 Pub &amp; Grill at Lyman Orchards&nbsp;in&nbsp;Middlefield, Connecticut&nbsp;for a festive workshop of thankful fun and pretty lettering&nbsp;for beginners! Whether you’re a stationery nerd, DIY Bride-to-be, or just a crafty individual, in this workshop you’ll be learning an introduction to modern calligraphy with a pointed dip pen and ink. We will cover all the basics and get you ready to add those special lettered details to all your Thanksgiving holiday tables with place cards, menus, food labels, bar carts and more!
Class includes 1.5 hours of instruction and demonstration, our beginner’s calligraphy kit, and all materials to write on. Everything is yours to keep at the end of the workshop! Additionally, we will be lettering on faux pumpkins at the end of our class time!

Food and drinks will be available to purchase throughout class so come hungry! Class will start promptly at&nbsp;6:30 PM!&nbsp;
Class Expectations:&nbsp;Yes,&nbsp;lefties&nbsp;are welcome too!&nbsp;This class is encouraged for someone who has never taken a calligraphy class before. We teach the basics and our expectation for you is to have ink flowing through your nib with enough confidence to be able to practice way beyond class. We love using tracing paper with our guides to help you build muscle memory and develop your own style! &nbsp;If you have tried calligraphy out before, this class will be a great refresher and hopefully a chance to try some new supplies from our beginner kit that will re-introduce you to this lovely form of art!
A note on bringing guests 16 and under:&nbsp;We love to share this passion with kids. You are welcome to get a ticket for your child as long as you are comfortable with people around them having a drink or two. We do ask that anyone under the age of 16 is to be accompanied by a ticketed adult at all times.
