Candelora and Kokoruda Update Taxpayers Over Coffee

State Reps. Vincent Candelora and Noreen Kokoruda held a 'Coffee & Conversation' event at Perk On Main in Durham.

From the Connecticut General Assembly: State Reps. Vincent Candelora and Noreen Kokoruda held a ‘Coffee & Conversation’ event at Perk On Main, located at 6 Main Street in Durham, on Thursday morning to update taxpayers. Both legislators kicked off the meeting by explaining that most of the committees have finished their work, and now they are waiting on the Appropriations and Finance, Revenue Bonding Committees to finalize their budget proposal.

This event served as an opportunity to discuss the issues shaping the 2017 legislative session, answer constituents’ questions and address various local issues.

“As we make our way through the 2017 legislative session and start to have more conversations regarding our state’s budget, it’s important that our constituents are provided with accurate information about happenings in the Capitol,” said Rep. Candelora. “We need to maintain an open, honest stream of conversation. I am glad that so many residents showed up.”

“I want to express my gratitude to all those who joined us this month and asked such thought provoking questions,”Rep. Kokoruda said. “I always welcome input from the people I represent because without it – I could not represent the 101st District effectively. I look forward to more discussion like this as we get deeper into the budget process.”
