Car Break-Ins in Middlefield Under Investigation

A man reported a stolen wallet and a credit card in his name that was used at a local store, according to state police.

Troopers from the Middlefield Resident State Trooper’s Office and Troop F-Westbrook are currently investigating several motor vehicle break-ins, that occurred in the Lake Beseck area of Middlefield, during the overnight hours between October 20, 2015, and October 21, 2015.

On Oct. 21, at approximately 5:20 p.m., Troop F received a call reporting a larceny from a motor vehicle. The victim reported that he noticed his wallet had been taken from his motor vehicle after he received information that a credit card in his name had been used at a local store.

Through the course of the investigation, troopers determined that the victim’s stolen credit card was used on Oct. 21 at approximately 2:45 a.m. at a retail store in Wallingford.

Troopers were able to obtain surveillance footage of two suspects, and a suspect vehicle. Both suspects are described as white, or light-skinned males.

The suspect vehicle is believed to be a Nissan Maxima with damage to the passenger side front quarter panel, and damage to the passenger side rear bumper cover.

The two male suspects are believed to be involved in motor vehicle break-ins in other towns as well.

“Troopers remind residents to keep all doors locked, and valuables locked up and out of sight,” state police said in a press release. “Also, remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.”
