Car Show Fundraiser - This Weekend!
Rev your engines! DMLWC and CRHS Project Graduation are teaming up to bring a car show fundraiser to Coginchaug this weekend!
Rev up your engines for the Durham Middlefield Local Wellness Coalition (DMLWC) and Coginchaug Project Graduation Car Show fundraiser; the event will take place on Saturday, June 6th at Coginchaug Regional High School, from 10am-2pm. Registration will open at 9am. (Rain date is Sunday June 7th) Car, truck, and motorcycle enthusiasts are invited to come out and enjoy a fun day with friends and family. Food and drinks will be available for purchase and there will also be: raffle prizes, door-prizes, a youth-lead bake-sale, and plenty of automotive eye candy. There is no cut-off year and all are welcome to enter their car, truck, or motorcycle into the show. There is a $10 entry fee for show vehicles and spectators are welcome to make a donation. Each registered vehicle will receive a goody-bag full of giveaways from national and local businesses. There are 14 trophies up for grabs including two Best in Show Trophies; one just for graduating CRHS seniors. All proceeds will directly benefit DMLWC and Coginchaug Project Graduation. DMLWC is a 100% grant funded initiative that is organized by volunteers who live and work in the community and focus on keeping our youth safe, healthy, and drug-free. Grant funding will end in September 2017 and without additional resources, DMLWC will no longer be able to support a majority of youth drug and alcohol prevention initiatives. Coginchaug Project Graduation is held on graduation night and offers a safe, fun, drug-free environment for students to celebrate their accomplishments and have fun as an entire group, for one last time. The Project Graduation Committee consists of volunteer parents who are required to raise $22,000 in donations each year to keep the program going.
