Coginchaug U12 Girls Win Clinton Tournament

Team pulls together after a group stage loss to take the championship

The Coginchaug Soccer Club Girls Under-12 Soccer team won their division in the annual Clinton Tournament held over the weekend.  The team is coached by Bob Francis and Lou DePonte.

Coach Lou reports:

Our Girls U12 team won their division championship today at the Clinton Invitational Tournament.  We beat Branford 2-0 to win the Championship.  We had an overall record of 4-1.  We beat Guilford Green 4-0, North Branford 4-0, Lost to Guilford White 2-0 on Saturday.  That earned us the #2 Seed.  We again beat North Branford in the semis 1-0, and then beat Branford in the Championship.  We only gave up two goals in 5 games!  Great effort by the girls.

Congratulations team!
