Color Mixing, Rainbows and Wishes

Brewster students learn science and language arts through art.

Brewster Elementary School students learned how to mix the secondary colors from the primary colors. It was exciting for them to have there own palette.  They recorded their very own colors on a color tab (turned into a book mark).  The next lesson involved review and science. Students learned how rainbows are formed, the weather conditions required (they study weather in the classroom), and the sequence of the colors in a rainbow.  We played color equation games and filled out sequence sheets. The next two weeks were spent composing a scene with a landscape and rainbow. The lesson will involve using the iPads to make a book. We will be writing and narrating our individual rainbow wishes.
