CT Brothers Busted for Alleged Marijuana Growing Operation: State Police

190 pot plants were seized by state police.

SHARON, CT — Two brother were arrested by state police Thursday in connection with a marijuana growing operation at a residence in Sharon, according to authorities.

State police used a plane to locate what they called a "large Marijuana Cultivation operation" at a residential property on Cornwall Bridge Road. Details of the investigation and circumstances leading up to the discovery and subsequent arrests were not disclosed.

“Upon the completion of a Search and Seizure Warrant, with the assistance of members of the State Wide Narcotics Task Force, approximately five (5) pounds of processed marijuana, 190 marijuana plants and other cultivation equipment were seized from the residence,” state police wrote in a release.

Arrested were Ronald C. Rodriguez, 27, who lives at the address, and Maximillian Dempsey Rodriguez, 25, of Caroline Drive in Sharon. They were charged with:

  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Illegal Sale of Controlled Substance
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia in a Drug Factory
  • Illegal Sale of Controlled Substance by Non-Drug-Dependent Person
  • Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence

The case remains under investigation, according to state police. Both men were held in lieu of $50,000 bonds each, and were scheduled to be arraigned in Bantam Superior Court on Friday.
