CT Pair Overdose with 5-Year-Old in the Home: State Police
The two were saved by EMS personnel who used NARCAN to revive them.

KILLINGLY, CT β Two people were saved from overdosing Thursday night in Killingly after EMS personnel used NARCAN to revive them, according to a post on the Connecticut State Police Facebook page. A five-year-old child was in the home at the time while the two were passed out from the drugs.
The incident occurred at about 7:30 p.m. when troopers from from the state police barracks in Danielson were called to the home on Prospect Avenue.
The apartment's residents told state police they had left the pair, identified as 23-year-olds Maya Alexandia Almond-Lawson and Elijah Markkamau Collins, and the child in the home for about 20 minutes and returned to find the two unconscious and breathing erratically.

State police believe the two smoked marijuana that had possibly been laced with an opiate.
"Both individuals were treated and administered NARCAN on scene by EMS personnel and responded positively to this treatment," state police officials wrote. "Both were then transported to Day Kimball Hospital for further treatment and evaluation."

Collins and Almond-Lawson later admitted to having smoked some marijuana prior to passing out. They were released from the hospital and arrested on a charge of Risk of Injury to a Minor.
Both were held in lieu of $2,500 cash/surety bonds, and the state Department of Children and Families was notified and responded to the scene.
