DURHAM, CT — The Durham Volunteer Fire Company assisted the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Sunday in rescuing a deer that had become stuck in a frozen pond, according to a post on the Durham department's <a href="https://www.facebook.com/DurhamVolunteerFireCompany/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Facebook page</a>.The large pond is located at the corner of Cherry Lane and Higganum Road."The fire company was glad to assist and turned the situation into a cold water training opportunity," officials wrote.
