DUI Checkpoint Announced In Middlefield

State Police shared details on when and where to expect the upcoming DUI checkpoint.

MIDDLEFIELD, CT — State Troopers from Connecticut State Police, Troop F-Westbrook Barracks will conduct a DWI/Sobriety Checkpoint on Route 66 in Middlefield on Friday, Dec. 29.

The checkpoint will be in operation for several hours. State Troopers will stop all vehicles at the checkpoint location to determine whether motorists have consumed alcoholic beverages prior to driving their vehicles as well as checking for compliance with other state laws.

The checkpoint will be clearly marked with emergency flashing lights as well as reflective signs. "The safety of the public will be the primary concern of State Police personnel assigned to the checkpoint," State Police said.

Also expect more troopers out on patrol this holiday weekend as they look to crackdown on DUI offenses. Troopers will also be looking to enforce all seatbelt requirements too.
