Durham 8th Grader Wins Geography Contest

He competed in the Connecticut Geography Bee in March.

DURHAM, CT β€” Durham resident William Foster, an eighth grade student at Independent Day School in Middlefield, won the Connecticut Geography Bee this past March, reports the Meriden Record-Journal.

As the state's champion, Foster will next compete in the National Geography Bee, sponsored by National Geographic, for a chance to win $50,000 and other prizes.

In addition to geography, Foster also enjoys reading about history and is Boy Scout in his hometown, according to the publication.
