Durham to Consider Ordinance to Preserve Thomas Lyman House

The 13-acre property is located at 105 Middlefield Road in Durham.

DURHAM, CT — A proposed ordinance to preserve the Thomas Lyman House, an historic home located at 105 Middlefield Road in Durham, will be the subject of a public hearing on Oct. 13, according to town officials.

Lyman became a wealthy farmer, merchant and trader in Durham, and the home named after him was built on 13 acres in the late 1700's.

Copies of the Study Report and the proposed ordinance to preserve the home are online and available in the Durham Town Clerk's office.

The Oct. 13 hearing is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Durham Public Library Meeting Room, 7 Maple Ave.
