Durham Library's Offers Back to School Programs

The offerings will take place from August 25, 26 and 27.

The first day of school for Durham students is Thursday, August 28. The Durham Public Library is offering the following back to school programs.

Online Homework Resources: A Parent’s Guide (AKA”Help! My Report is Due Tomorrow and the Library is Closed!”) will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, August 25.

Learn how to use online research resources available through iConn.org, a service of the Connecticut State Library. iConn.org has 1000s of e-reference books, magazine and newspaper articles, primary sources, images, and maps for elementary, middle, and high school students. This workshop is intended for parents and teens. Drop-in; no registration required.

Get Ready for Kindergarten Storytime, for children entering kindergarten this fall, will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 26. Have a little one making the leap from preschool to Kindergarten? This story time is just for them. This is a special one-time only program, so don’t miss it! Drop in.

Library Scavenger Hunt (ages 4 to 10) will take place from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 27. Pick up a game sheet from Miss Christine and see how well you know the library! We will have crafts and a snack, too. Drop in.
