MIDDLEFIELD, CT — Lyman Orchards in Middlefield anchors the Columbus Day weekend for Durham and Middlefield, from Thursday, Oct. 8, through Sunday, Oct. 11, with student rockers at the Apple Barrel by day, a haunted house by night and live music at its pub on Friday.

This Weekend's Arts & Entertainment

  • School of Rock at the Apple Barrel — Saturday, Oct. 10, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students from School of Rock North Haven play live while visitors pick apples and pumpkins and try the corn maze. Lyman Orchards Apple Barrel, 32 Reeds Gap Road, Middlefield
  • "The Orchard Trials" haunted house — Friday through Sunday, Oct. 9-11, 7 to 10 p.m. The interactive attraction uses live actors and cinematic storytelling in groups of up to six; general admission is $28 and VIP passes are $43, plus fees, parking is $10 cash, and the PG-13 show requires an adult for anyone under 16.
