Durham P&Z Makes Decision on Fast Food Drive-Up Windows

An owner of a pair of Dunkin' Donuts locations in town sought a change to the regulations prohibiting drive-thrus.

DURHAM, CT - The town will remain a no-fast-food-drive-thru community following a recent decision by the Durham Planning and Zoning Commission.

A Dunkin' Donuts franchise owner had sought a change to the town's current regulations banning drive-up windows, but the request was denied by the commission during a hearing last week, reports the Meriden Record-Journal.

Most residents who spoke at the hearing were against the proposed regulation change, in part because they believed it could lead to increased garbage and traffic.
