Indian Lane Culvert
The Durham Local Traffic Authority (Board of Selectmen), at its meeting of August 13, 2018, voted to limit access to the Indian Lane Bridge (culvert) to a five (5) ton load limit. There will be signs and barriers installed later this week. This means anything more than an automobile will have to access homes on Indian Lane or Boulder View Court from Route 17. Letters have been mailed to residents of that neighborhood.

This action comes at the recommendation of our Town Engineer whose firm recently conducted an inspection of the culvert. Town officials are in the process of authorizing funds and securing a preliminary design to replace the culvert. This process can be lengthy. In the meantime, monthly inspections will be performed to monitor the culvert until the road is closed either due to advancing deterioration of the culvert or for construction of a replacement.
