Durham Will Be Late with Conservation Plan

The town will hold a public hearing on the plan in July.

DURHAM, CT - The town is telling the state that it will be late with it's conservation homework.

On July 13, Durham will hold a public hearing at Coginchaug Regional High School to discuss its proposed Plan of Conservation and Development, but the hearing is scheduled for after the state deadline to submit it, reports the Meriden Record-Journal.

Town officials want a little extra time to get the document right, they said, in part because it has to encompass 12 years of goals, regulations and potential development plans.

Additionally, officials want more time to discuss possible changes to the town's historic district along Main Street, which some residents want to keep largely unchanged.
