A few people inquired about a mysterious boat at the lake a week ago on a late Monday night.
This was the Inland Fisheries division of D.E.E.P surveying the fish of Lake Beseck.
"Shocking" as it may seem, the electrofishing method of capturing fish does not actually harm the fish. The electric current pulls fish to surface, they are netted and placed in a live well.
Various data is then collected on the fish; sex, length, a few fish scales to determine age, ratios of fish in water body, etc. After collecting data from the fish, they are then released.
Most noteworthy were the thousands of White Perch occupying the lake, the large Pike that were introduced by fisherman, and what appeared to be a decrease in Bass.
