Essex Winter Concert Series: Frederica von Stade, mezzo-soprano with pianist Laurana Mitchelmore

Recognized as one of today’smost beloved musical figures,

Frederica von Stade has enriched the classicalmusic world

for three decades with appearances in opera, concert and

recital, and on PBS specials and Live fromLincoln telecasts.

Her achievements include more than 60 recordings, six

Grammy nominations, two Grand Prix du Disc awards,

theDeutsche Schallplattenpreis, Italy’s Premio dellaCritica

Discografica, “Best of Year” citations by Stereo Review and

Opera News, appointment to France’s L’Ordre des Arts et

des Lettres, and an award from President Reagan and the

White House for her significant contribution to the arts.

World-class pianist and long-time collaborator Laurana

Mitchelmore will accompany Miss von Stade, who has

described thismoving concert as a “musical autobiography.”

All concerts are held on Sundays at 3:00 p.m. at Valley Regional High School located at 256 Kelsey Hill Road, Deep River, CT.

Individual ticket prices for each concert are $30 for Adults; $25 for Senior Citizens; $12 for Children/Students. Subscriptions for all concerts are also available at a cost of $110 for Adults and $90 for Senior Citizens.
