Killingworth resident Dan O'Sullivan just returned from Tanzania, where he achieved his goal of summiting Mount Kilimanjaro, the "roof of Africa." On Friday, April 13, he will talk about his preparations for the trip and give an overview of the 19,341-foot ascent.
After that eight-day adventure, he went on safari, where he saw thousands of zebras and wildebeests, as well as lions, leopards, rhinos and other animals of the Serengeti. Dan will accompany his remarks with some of the photos he took.
If you have ever wanted to climb the world's largest freestanding mountain, or you would just like to hear about it from someone who did, join Dan at the Killingworth Library. The event is free, and refreshments will be served.
