Join the Arts Center Killingworth for an evening of classical music, Saturday, November 19th (7:30pm) with the New York-based Geller-Anderson Duo. Experience the triumphant opening of Beethoven’s Sonata No.1 in D Major, Gershwin’s classic Porgy and Bess, Paul Schoenfield’s jazzy Four Souvenirs, and top off the evening with the delicate beauty of Nocturne by Lili Boulanger. Violinist Sarah E. Geller has performed in renowned venues such as Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall, where she made her solo recital debut as a winner of the Artists’ International Special Presentation Award. Taiwan native and pianist Wenhan Anderson has performed with the Casalmaggiore International Music Festival and is a founding member of the MusicWorks music school in New Canaan, Connecticut. Earlier that afternoon the Duo offers a Musical Workshop for Children, Teens and Families (4:30-5:30pm. $5 per family). Discover how the music you listen to makes you feel. What colors and shapes do you see? What words come to mind? Families draw shapes, sketches and squiggles – a tangible souvenir of the experience!
