David D.J. Rau, Director of Education and Outreach at the Florence Griswold Museum, will present “The FGM from A to Z: An Alphabetical Introduction to the Florence Griswold Museum” at the Killingworth Library on Wednesday, April 25 at 7 p.m.
The Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme offers year-round exhibitions of American art and interprets the historic Florence Griswold House, a boardinghouse for artists, circa 1910. The 11 acres of gardens and grounds along the Lieutenant River provide a place of natural beauty that inspired the original painters of the Lyme Art Colony, as well as those of today. Come learn about the history of the museum as well as all the happenings in store for 2012.
David Rau has been the Director of Education and Outreach at the Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme since 1998. He holds a Master’s degree in the History of Art and a Certificate in Museum Practice from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
