Falcons A Team in Big Win vs. Bloomfield

The A-team took their annual bus ride up to Bloomfield this past Sunday. The team looked confident as they stepped off the bus.  Led by captains Dylan DeGennaro, Andrew Gleason, John Lombardo and Justin Gagner.

The day started with the Falcons driving down the field numerous times.  Running backs Michael Souza, Jon Lombardo and Dreon Morris were something the Raiders could not stop all day. The hard working Falcon’s line lead by Anthony Arreguin at center, flanked by Bailey Matuskiewicz, Justin Gagner, Luke Latorre and David Coppola dominated the Raiders defensive line.  Attacking the defense for four quarters was the team’s goal.   The falcons scored first with Souza going over the right side for a touchdown.  The no huddle offense called at the line by Griffin Saks was run without hesitation.  The Defense controlled the Half with strong play from Luke LaTorre, Dylan DeGennaro, David Skelps, Andrew Gleason, David Coppola, Terry Lockwood, Danny Dekoeyer and Josh Martinez.  The Raiders were able to score on a broken play just before the half ended.  The score at the half was 8-7 in favor of the Falcons.

Bloomfield would receive the ball to start the second half.  The boys went back to work, stopping numerous drives by the Raiders.  With heart and determination, the Falcons’ Souza scored again this time over the left side with key blocks by Matuskiewicz, Kulasenski and Saks.  After Lombardo added the extra point the boys were ahead 16-7.  Bloomfield being relentless executed a fake punt in the fourth quarter, the Raiders pulled to within 3 points at 16-13.  After a deep kick off, the Falcons started deep in their own territory.  With fantastic heart and desire, the team drove the ball out to about the 40 yard line when Lombardo veered to the outside and then down the side line …out running all the Bloomfield players for another Falcon touchdown, bringing the score to 24-13.   On Bloomfield’s final drive they were able to score with just 32 Seconds to remain in the game. Bloomfield attempted an unsuccessful on side kick off and the Falcons sealed their victory with Anthony Curry taking a knee.  This was a great win for the team and the organization!!!  The Falcons will take their 3 and 1 record into Canton next week.
