Free Soup, Salad and a Discussion for Senior Citizens at Durham Public Library

The event is scheduled for next month.

DURHAM, CT β€” Local senior citizens will be treated to a free soup and salad luncheon on Sept. 9 at the Durham Public Library, just prior to a presentation about the Lyman family who created nearby Lyman Orchards.

The discussion, entitled "The Lymans of Lyman Orchards: Historical Fiction as a Portal to the Past," will feature local author Diana Ross McCain, whose latest book is "Thy Children's Children: A Novel," which is about five generations of the Lyman family.

The Sept. 9 luncheon is scheduled for noon, with the lecture following at 1 p.m. Reservations are required before noon on Sept. 7. See the library's Facebook post below for more information.
