Geoff Fox Undergoes Cancer Surgery
Helaine Fox thanks everyone, on her husband's behalf, for all the support.

Meteorologist Geoff Fox underwent pancreatic cancer surgery Tuesday, and his wife, Helaine, reports that doctors told her that the procedure went well.
Fox was scheduled to have what is called a Whipple procedure — which he said involves cutting away portions of his stomach, intestines, bile duct, gallbladder and pancreas and then reattaching them.
His procedure was postponed twice, but according to Helaine, who temporarily took over Geoff's Facebook duties, posted that they are "cautiously optimistic" following the surgery:

Two days before the surgery, he received a surprise visit from children from his Palm Springs, CA, neighborhood to wish him well for the procedure, a visit that brought him to tears he wrote on his blog.
“We moved to this area specifically because there were going to be kids. With kids there’s life,” he wrote.
