GOOD FRIDAY Ecumenical Way of the Cross in Durham ~ April 14 @ Noon ~ Notre Dame (272 Main St.) to Epiphany (196 Main St.)

Commemorate the walk of Jesus Christ as he made his way to his crucifixion with readings, singing, and prayers at abbreviated stations.

Parishioners and clergy from the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, Notre Dame and St. Coleman Roman Catholic Churches, the Middlefield Federated Church and the United Church of Durham will observe the annual β€œWay of the Cross” at noon on Good Friday, April 14th, one of Christianity’s holiest days.

Christians observe Good Friday as the day Christ died on the cross at Calvary over two-thousand years ago.

The Way of the Cross is a centuries old religious observance commemorating the walk of Jesus Christ as he made his way to Calvary and his crucifixion. We will follow the Way of the Cross, or "Via Crucis," as pilgrims have for centuries.

This Ecumenical observance begins at Notre Dame Church, 272 Main St., Durham and ends at the Church of the Epiphany, 196 Main St., Durham. A wooden cross will be carried and prayers will be said at each of the fourteen Stations of the Cross along the way. The cross will be erected on the lawn in front of the Church of the Epiphany.

All members of the community are welcome to participate.
