Hard-hats and Construction Take Over at The Durham Fairgrounds

Hard hats dotted the vista over the Durham Fairgrounds earlier today for the Construction Pro Rodeo Career day.  For the second year at the fairgrounds, those interested in construction work are introduced to its numerous skill sets.  The show will continue Thursday from 8 am to 9 pm. One of the largest sponsors, Port and Chester Institute is on hand to help guide career minded visitors. The school, with locations in Connecticut and Massachusetts, has mentors on hand demonstrating skills in the following fields:  Automotive, CADD, Computers, Electrical, HVAC/R and Electronics. Also present are United Steel, DOT, and the CT Troopers Association among many others. Home Depot is there with their dealer reps from Rigid, Ryobi and Milwaukee showing tool use.  Come check it out especially if over-sized Tonka Trucks are your thing. Opportunities to experience using heavy machinery are also possible at the event. The group is focused on providing hands on programming for people who want to experience hands-on trade. Weds. 8-1pm, Thursday 8am to 9pm, Admission free!            www.ctrodeo.com
