Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued for Durham, Middlefield

Potential thunderstorms are in the forecast for June 9 and beyond.

The National Weather Service is calling for a chance of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday, June 9. A β€œHazardous Weather Outlook” and a β€œSpecial Weather Statement” were issued for much of the state.

The greatest chance for severe weather is predicted for Hartford and Tolland counties.

Tuesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 5 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 78. South wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tuesday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 7 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 59. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 81. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 61. South wind 5 to 7 mph.

Thursday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. Southwest wind 6 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Thursday Night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 60. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 83.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64.
