Heat, Humidity and Storms in Durham, Middlefield's Weather Forecast

Some areas of the state will see temperatures in the 90s this week.

Looks like we may be in the hottest week of the summer so far. Temperatures for the entire state, except New London County, will be in the low-90s Tuesday and Wednesday, and hovering around the 90-degree mark on Thursday.

A β€œHazardous Weather Outlook” has been issued for Hartford and Tolland counties for this afternoon because a β€œfew strong to severe thunderstorms are possible” into the early evening hours. The main risks are for damaging wind gusts and possible hail, the National Weather Service writes.

The NWS issued a β€œHazardous Weather Outlook” for Fairfield and New Haven counties for a chance of severe thunderstorms on Thursday afternoon and evening.

Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is forecasting unhealthy air quality for sensitive groups on Tuesday and Wednesday, due to predicted elevated ground-level ozone pollution for southern sections of Fairfield and New Haven Counties on Tuesday, and all of Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex, and New London Counties on Wednesday.
