Homes for the Brave Bowl II

Coginchaug football team will host "Homes for the Brave Bowl II" on Thanksgiving

The Coginchaug football team will host β€œHomes for the Brave Bowl II” on Thanksgiving at 10:00 AM at the Coginchaug soccer/football field. The Coginchaug and Cromwell football teams, in partnership with the Homes for the Brave transitional housing program in Bridgeport, have dedicated their traditional Thanksgiving Day game to combatting homelessness among America’s military veterans.

Homes for the Brave provides housing, vocational training, job placement, mental health and addiction services and life skills coaching to homeless veterans from across the state. The staff at Homes for the Brave is dedicated to helping every veteran realize his or her goals for housing, employment, and independent living.

Fans are encouraged to give thanks to the most vulnerable of our veterans by donating goods and/or money at the game. Canned goods and new clothes and toiletries for men and women are appreciated. A complete β€œwish list” of needed items can be found on the Homes for The Brave website at www.homesforthebrave.org .

Over $600 and 100 pounds of wish list items were donated at last season’s game. Whether you plan to attend the game or not, please stop by on Thanksgiving and drop off a donation so that Homes for the Brave can continue to help veterans regain their rightful place in society. Donations will be accepted from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
